Unlimited Broadband
Unlimited broadband is the term given to broadband packages with no set limits on the amount of data you can download per month. A lot of people prefer unlimted broadband as they like to know exactly how much they're going to be paying each month and they also don't want to worry about download limits. However a lot of unlimited broadband packages include a reasonable usage policy. The reasonable usage policy is there to stop people hogging bandwidth that is shared amongst a given set of households, as bandwidth hogs can slow things down for everyone. If you do exceed the amount of data stipulated in the reasonable usage policy for 2 consecutive months, the ISP will not charge you any extra or cut you off, however you may recieve a warning letter. If you continue to exceed this limit they may send you another warning letter or at worst suspend your account.

Both the data limit and the time period mentioned above will vary across different ISPs. Most broadband users would never reach these limits, but if download limits worry you, it's probably best to look at one of the heavy usage broadband packages listed on this site. Most of these packages offer unlimited broadband and given that they cost extra, they may have a more generous policy on download limits.
